Bucket list show!
I saw Dave live in Nola over Jazz fest weekend about a decade ago, after deciding that seeing DMB live was my only (so far) bucket list entry. Needless to say, Dave did not disappoint! But, being a festival setting, much less intimate than a solo show, the experience was amazing. When I was notified that he was coming to the DC area, I started dropping some major hints, and, the day the tickets went on sale, they could hardly be described as “hints” anymore. Even with having to pause the show for inclement weather moving through the area, Dave played his heart out, as he always does. Two of the last decent seats left in the house were at long last secured, and my excitement kept building until the day of the show. My boyfriend, who has never been as big of a fan as I, was thoroughly impressed with the show, and, especially Dave’s stamina. I decided to put seeing him back on my bucket list, specifically, an actual DMB show. He had been wondering if there would be a break mid-show, and I had said I doubted it because I know how hard & long Dave can play. Sure enough, though forced to take the break for the thunderstorm to roll through, Dave continued playing just as incredibly after, and kept up as late as they’d let him. Truly impressed, as always, with M&M's Fan Appreciation 400!! Amazing show, worthy of checking off the bucket list entry once & for all! (Not that that means I won’t try to see him again!) My absolute favorite performer, love the full band, adore how Dave makes a point to give each member solo time, and jams out with them.
